When We Need You

From 27/06/2011 onwards

About Opportunity

Find a home for Sooty and make a difference in your local community by giving our iconic Sooty collecting box the best spot in the house.

Did you know that £700,000 was raised from loose change last year? This helped 1.6 million talking books be delivered to 40,000 blind and partially sighted people and over 2,000 new books to be transcribed to our library.

What will I be doing?

  • Using our database you will identify locations for Sooty collection boxes.

  • Visit new locations, talk to the shop owners, managers and landlords etc and negotiate the best spot in the house for Sooty.

  • Accurately record details of new locations and feedback to the fundraising manager.

  • Regularly review database for potential new locations.

About RNIB

RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) is the UK's leading charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people with sight loss.  As a membership organisation we are dedicated to delivering services our members need and campaigning for their civil and welfare rights.  We support children and adults with sight loss to live full and independent lives.  Volunteers work with us to support blind and partially sighted people in a variety of locations across the UK.  We have over 100 different volunteering roles available which can be done from home, based at an RNIB Group office or out and about in the community.  Volunteering with us means that you will help even more blind and partially sighted people lead full and independent lives.
