About Opportunity
These projects support people with physical and/or learning difficulties. A volunteer is needed to go swimming with someone we support and a member of staff, therefore would be 2nd person support person. Also to support in other activities including cinema, shopping, lunch etc. All people are supported 24 hours a day with all aspects of their care, they all lead busy lives and like to get out and about on different activities. Main tasks would include 2nd support for swimming, and also initially a 2nd person for all kinds of social activities and getting to know the person. Aiming to them eventually being able to go out on their own. This volunteer would need to be reliable and turn up, and give plenty of notice if unable to. Training and Induction Details
Emergency first aid, safer handling, medication, SCIP. Inducton to quarries. Possibly intensive interaction, makaton and autism, depending on the person. Will also have regular supervision with project manager, and be invited to some team meetings
