About Opportunity
Gorbals Healthy Living Network are looking for volunteers to assist us in our project to establish edible community growing spaces throughout the Gorbals area of Glasgow – no experience necessary, all welcome. We are currently working on the Gorbals Rose Garden every Wednesday and the first and the third Sunday of the month in order to establish a community growing space on the site and we aim to start work on two other sites in the area in the near future. We are looking for volunteers to assist and participate with us in this project by attending work days on the site, constructing raised beds, landscaping, planting, sowing, maintaining and harvesting edible produce for use for volunteers and those in the local community. As the projects is in its early stages of development, further voluntary opportunities such as event organising, assisting with securing additional funding, running workshops and skill shares are possible. If you are interested in participating in the project in any way, or wish to hear more, please get in touch. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us by email or phone using the contact details on the right/REGISTER INTEREST button below. If you do not receive a response within 7 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. After submitting the application form there will be an imformal chat. It generally takes around 1 week after you contact us to get you started.
