About Kilsyth Community Market Garden

Kelvin Valley Honey is an East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire initiative aiming to halt the declining honeybee population of the area. We do this in a number of innovative and exciting ways; • by providing free beekeeper training, free loan of beekeeping hives, equipment and protective clothing together with a free honeybee starter colony • encouraging residents to create honeybee friendly habitats by giving away over 3,000 packets of wild flower and vegetable seeds, 2,000 fruit trees and 2,000 soft fruit bushes • planting derelict and long term unused vacant land with bee friendly flowers, native species flowering trees and soft fruit bushes Honeybees are essential to human live as Einstien said “If the bee disappeared from the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”
