About Opportunity

We need enthusiastic volunteers to help make our shop a friendly and welcoming place, sort donated items, display stock, work as part of a team and independently using their own initiative. By volunteering to work at the Charity Shop you will gain new skills, use existing talents, increase your confidence, gain work experience, give back to the community, do something valuable with your free time and meet new people.

About The Salvation Army - North Edinburgh Shop

To provide affordable goods and clotjing to local residents of North Edinburgh. To provide volunteering opportunties for local residents who have difficulty obtaining regular employment. To support financially the Salvation Army's community work in North Edinburgh.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience is not required. We expect all volunteers to share the following attributes; Friendly and helpful, willing to work as part of a team, willing to work with the general public, prepared to be discreet and able to maintain confidentiality, able to use their own initiative and work independently once trained.

Travel Details

Muirhouse Shopping Centre, Pennywell Road, Edinburgh.

Application Form, Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Interview, Police Check, References, Trial Period

Training and Induction Details

All volunteers have a 6 month induction operiod including full in-house training on operational procedures. This timke will help to identify the most appropriate role to suit experience and abilities.
