About Opportunity

To offer support to local Carers, regardless of their caring situation, to enable them to have a break from their caring duties, in a way which will benefit both the Carer and the person they care for. The role will vary according to particular needs and circumstances of the family, but may include companionship in their own home, accompanying the cared for person on trips such as shopping, outings, or leisure activities, or helping the Carer to get involved with social and community activities. The role does not include housework or personal or nursing care. You do not need to have previous experience, but must be confident, empathetic and flexible.

Induction and support to meet the specific needs of the individual will be provided. Further training may be available. Taster sessions and a trial period are also available.”
