About Opportunity
Following appropriate training a Volunteer Youth Support worker will engage with young people who may be involved in drugs or alcohol consumption or experiencing issues regarding their sexual health, by providing condom distribution, pregnancy testing, sterile injecting equipment, advice and support as appropriate.

About West Fife Community Drugs Team
WFCDT offers a range of services to people at risk of, or experiencing, problem drug use and or sexual health problems. These services are provided in an informal and non-judgemental setting. Services include advice and information on drug use and other related issues eg HIV, Hepatitis B and C, wound care, safe injecting practices, needle exchange, counseling, drugs outreach work,and sexual health issues, pregnancy testing and condom distribution. All service are available to young people.
Skills & Experience
Volunteers require to have a mature, non judgemental approach to young people. They need to be able to work with individuals as they attempt to reach important life decisions which will not compromise their health, prospects and over all well being
Travel Details
Volunteer would be expected to provide the service via streetwork in the evenings and by engaging with young people where they meet socially, e.g. community centres, youth clubs.

Induction training at base to learn about procedures and protocols. Training on sexual health issues ( condom distribution and pregnancy testing) Needle and syringe exchange training Access to national / local drugs training
