About Opportunity

We are looking for people to assist us to raise funds to keep our radio station on air. Everyone involved with our project is a volunteer. We provide broadcasting training and confidence builiding to all our volunteers. We are an internet radio station broadcasting in all major international languages and African languages. If you think you can help us we'd really love to hear from you. We are looking for both experienced fundraisers and people who would like to learn these skills. H**HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?** If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register Interest facility. We will get in touch with you within 3 working days. If you have not heard from us within this time then please contact the Volunteer Centre. We will then arrange for you to come to our office for an interview. You should be able to start volunteering with us within 2 weeks of your initial contact.

About Radio Kilimanjaro

Radio Kilimanjaro exists to provide opportunities for communities in Glasgow to learn broadcasting skills by providing them with training that will increase confidence and self esteem. The internet radio station is a branch of the Next Step Initiative which is a registered charity that contribute to social, economic and digital inclusion in our target community. Radio Kilimanjaro broadcasts in a number of international and African languages and produces positive stories in an effort to overcome negative perceptions about Africa. Radio Kilimanjaro hope to offer job opportunties in the future.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for people with a variety of skills. We require someone with a background in fundraising and who will be willing to share their skills with others. We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to learn new skills and who are enthusiastic about trying out different fundraising activities. Above all we need people who are reliable, honest and trustworthy.

Commerce Street, Glasgow G5. Buses: 38, 44, 45 or Bridge Street Subway Station

We require mature people to assist us with this volunteering position

Requirements

Induction/Training, Interview, References, Trial Period

Training and Induction Details

The volunteer will be trained in the policies and procedures of the organisation. They will also be given a tour of the station and be introduced to the other volunteers. Other training will be offered as and when necessary.
