British Sign Language Qualified Youth Worker
When We Need You
From 24/03/2011 onwards
About Opportunity
The volunteer opportunity involves supporting several young people in our service who are hearing impaired. To begin with, this would be around building a positive and supportive working relationship with the young people, and through the use of sign language supporting them to integrate fully into their peer group. At this point in time we are specifically looking for people who are qualified in British Sign Language to Level 4 or above. Training would be given on youth work skills, and you would have the opportunity to develop this role in partnership with the young people you will support. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us preferrably by email or phone using the contact details on the right or click the REGISTER INTEREST button . If you do not receive a response within 2 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It generally takes around 2-4 weeks after initial contact for volunteers to start with us.
