About Opportunity
CT-G provide transport to non-profit making organisations, who do not have access to transport whether it be through budget, mobility etc. CT-G volunteers provide a door-to-door transport service for vulnerable people in the community. Friendly with a good sense of humour is essential, no two days are ever the same, some days you travel locally and other days you are going on days away. A good geographical knowledge of Glasgow and surrounding areas is beneficial. You can meet new people; and you will be making a significant difference to the lives of people in the local community. As runs are not set on a daily basis, and vary week-to-week flexibility of availability is essential. • Driving minibuses. • Carrying out daily checks of the vehicle. • Providing a door-to-door transport service to the local community. **HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?** If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. About Community Transport Glasgow
Community transport is the term used to describe providing a range of transport facilities across the city to fill unmet transport needs within the local community. This ranges from access to hospitals from certain areas of the city, to ensuring that young and elderly people can travel to participate in various activities.
Skills & Experience
Full clean driving licence, held for more than two years. Drivers must have the D1 Classification on their licence. Good sense of humour, good with the general public. Have a good geographical knowledge of the East and West of Glasgow
Travel Details
Office is based in Shettleston but some volunteers will work from our hub in Drumchapel, both areas are served well by public transport. The volunteering opportunity takes place in and around Glasgow.

Training and Induction Details
All drivers must go through the MiDAS Training (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme), PATS (Passenger Assistant Training). We are continually adding to our training our training programme and drivers would be put through these courses free of charge.

We will pay mileage costs (£0.45 per mile) if a driver uses a car to travel to the office, bus/train fares will also be covered, when tickets have been produced. If the volunteer buys food while volunteering, receipts should be handed in and the volunteer will be reimbursed.

Frequency & Commitment
It can range from 3 – 8 hours a week. We work around the timescale of the driver, even though we do provide transport at these times, the bookings taken are based on the availability of drivers.
