About Opportunity

Each event will vary but generally we will be looking for volunteers to: Set up a stall and exhibit the leaflets to promote the project, Engage members of the general public in a friendly and enthusiastic manner to raise awareness of diabetes, the Patient Summary and Diabetes UK, Offer appropriate Diabetes UK publications/materials. Recruit people with diabetes to participate in the project. To motivate people who have diabetes to access and use their Patient Held record, Answer general enquires and direct any medical or other specific questions to the appropriate member of staff and/or refer to Careline. Encourage people with diabetes to leave their details so that we can forward them further information. Keep in touch with Diabetes UK to let us know where you are distributing our information and let us know how you are getting on.

Skills & Experience

You should be willing to visit venues in your local community to distribute Diabetes UK information, Confident working with members of the public, Good communication and listening skills, Ability to work as part of a team, Enthusiastic and outgoing.

As this is a pilot project, the induction and training courses are in development.
