About Opportunity
The Patients' Advocacy Service aims to provide support, information and assistance to as many patients living in the State Hospital. We work in a unique environment with some of the most vulnerable people in the mental health system. Volunteer advocates will provide an advocacy service for patients detained in the State Hospital, interviewing and supporting patients, obtaining information regarding patients rights and attending meets.

About The Patients' Advocacy Service

Communication skills, non-judgemental, respect confidentiality of patients, be able to empower individuals and accept that there will be close support and supervision
Travel Details
Within the State Hospital at Carstairs, South Lanarkshire. A travel allowance will be provided for public transport and private car use.

Application Form, Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Interview, Police Check, References, Trial Period
Training and Induction Details
A basic training course covering 6 modules (over 6 days) followed by ongoing training which includes a full security induction and a breakaway training; as well as ongoing training.
