About Opportunity

The team works in partnership with a wide variety of organisations, such an SNH, local community councils, The Cromarty Firth Fisheries Trust and other community groups to perform a wide range of practical conservation tasks within Inverness and surrounding area. Volunteers need no previous experience as full training in the tasks will be given on the day. We also welcome volunteers with some experience in practical conservation tasks. BTCV will provide refreshments but volunteers are asked to bring their own lunch. Volunteers need to wear suitable sturdy footwear. Waterproofs and wellies can be provided if requested in advance.

Projects take place in Inverness and surrounding area, occasional residential projects may be available within the Highlands and Islands

Training and Induction Details

Volunteers given health, safety and tools talks at beginning of each project day also an overview on the value of our work. Ongoing training given as required by each project task. Volunteers will be supported by project officer, BTCV volunteer officers

Travel expenses are reimbursed for each project day. The cheapest possible option on public transport applies.
