When We Need You

About Opportunity
Lifeline provides practical help in the form of baby clothes and equipment to mothers in need. Pregnancy counselling is also part of our service. Lifeline is largely funded by two charity shops, one in Portobello and the other on Gorgie Road. A Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the proper management of both the services and the shops. The Organisation needs additional Board members with expertise in either social care, counselling or retail management. The volunteer would join the Board and attend the lively monthly meetings on Thursdays from 5.00 – 7.00 pm. The volunteering Board member would also be asked to commit to a further 2-3 hours per month in order support and advise the Board on the effective operation of Lifeline’s services and businesses.
