About Opportunity
Older people have much to gain from the on-line world and are still largely missing out. Access to the digital world can bring many benefits – a new challenge, means of communication with friends and family, meeting others, shopping, services, entertainment, hobbies etc. Tenants were introduced to the world of computers at a recent Silver Surfers event to promote the benefits of the digital world for older people. The feedback from tenants and tutors involved in these sessions was very positive, tenants wanted to be given the opportunity to learn more, tutors enjoyed teaching a new skill. We would now like to progress with this initiative, providing suitable equipment and tutors who will be available at organised sessions to teach and guide tenants the skills required to become confident Silver Surfers.
