Befriender - Children & Young People
When We Need You
From 01/02/2011 onwards
About Opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to befriend children/young people who, for various reasons, require extra support. Befriending is offering time, support and friendship to a child/young person who needs a positive role model and/or is going through a difficult time in their life. Volunteers would introduce the child/young person to new challenges, skills and adventures. They would benefit from regular training and support, gaining life experience and making friends. The children/young people would benefit by having an adult who has an interest in them and spends time with them. They would also have some quality time in a relationship with no demands on them and hopefully see a growth in their self-esteem and confidence.
