About Opportunity
(NB: Now Recruiting - Autumn 2011) Volunteers will assist with children aged 7 – 13 years, who are above their ideal weight and their families. To assist the MEND team in the delivery of health related physical activity sessions with a pertinent focus on increasing participants self confidence and self esteem. The volunteer can improve their employability through this work experience. Help improve their skills, confidence, and self esteem. The volunteers will have access to free training and will get help to progress to paid bank registry work. This will also help volunteers improve their health and wellbeing. Tasks: • Assist in the delivery of structured health-related physical activities. • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines at all times. • Interact with MEND participants and families. • Self motivation and enthusiasm is required at all times. • Any other duties relevant to the post Annual awards ceremony for volunteers and bank register staff. Opportunity to progress to paid employment on East Ayrshire Leisure Development Assistants Bank Register.

Skills & Experience
Volunteers will require to be enthusiastic and motivated, outgoing support, mentoring and training will be provided. Allowing the volunteer to develop more skills and knowledge within this voluntary position.
Travel Details
Various locations throughout East Ayrshire. We endeavour to provide transport and always strive to offer an opportunity to suit the applicants travel requirements.

Training and Induction Details
Volunteers will receive the opportunity to attend regular training comprising of: MEND, Kids Club Network and Fun 4 Hire Training. Volunteers will also receive regular 1:1 meetings with their allocated line manager.

Frequency & Commitment
Volunteer opportunities will be offered on an as and when required basis. MEND sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.00pm – 7.30pm.
