About Opportunity
“As a volunteer at the Summer Street kitchen I get a great satisfaction of giving something back to the community. I also really enjoy cooking!” - Volunteer Cook Cyrenians are looking for more enthusiastic individuals to help us provide healthy, hearty meals to those who really need it. Our current Volunteer Cooks prepare bulk meals/ home-made soup/ dessert dishes for Street Alternatives. If you have 2 hours to spare during the week this could be a great way to make a vital contribution to the work of Cyrenians and the people we support. A great opportunity to help and make a difference to the local community.

About The Cyrenians
Aberdeen Cyrenians is a voluntary organisation and one of Scotland's major charities, which aims to help homeless people by alleviating homelessness, through the provision of support and accommodation. We provide direct services for homeless people, aiming to help them to move forward with their lives.
Since 1968, we have provided an increasing range of services for homeless people, and at present, we meet the needs of around 2,000 people each year.
In the main, we provide hostel type accommodation, run a drop in centre, help service users in gaining rented accommodation, provide advice, information and emotional support and provide training and access to education and employment opportunities.
We welcome and actively encourage the involvement of volunteers in a variety of areas to help us to open the doors wider for homeless people in Aberdeen.
