About Opportunity
Whizz-Kidz is looking for bright and enthusiastic volunteers to assist us in the delivery of services. This includes Wheelchair Skills Training programmes and Ambassador Clubs for young wheelchair users. This is a great opportunity for kids to get together and have fun, developing their confidence and increasing their independence as a result. Volunteers are there to encourage the kids to get involved and give things a go, acting as their ‘buddy’ on the day. Wheelchair Skills Training programmes are held over a period of 3 – 5 days, often but not always in the school holidays - times vary. Ambassador Clubs will take place in this area approximately every 8 weeks for one day – usually a Saturday or during the school holidays and last from 9am – 4pm. The more days volunteer are able to make, the more you will get out of it. You will also receive adequate training on the day to prepare you and volunteers receive a certificate at the end of each scheme they volunteer at and if you volunteer 5 times or more then you will receive a special reward from Whizz-Kidz to say thank you. Volunteers are crucial to the delivery of our services and Whizz-Kidz strives to give you a great volunteering experience! Whizz-Kidz have recently joined the ‘Experts In Volunteering’ project which ensures we adhere to a volunteer charter to maintain excellence in volunteering.
