About Opportunity

This opportunity is aimed at residents of Ruchazie. Who decides what happens in your local community centre? These vital community hubs need local input to sustain a well rounded and diverse programme that makes sure every member of the community can take part. Be part of keeping your community happy, alive and involved. Full training provided. As a committee member you will be involved in many decision making processes. This will include what goes on at the community centre, planning local celebrations, helping to choose the colour and decor of the centre etc. The committee meets 8 times per year for approx 2 hours at a time. The committee works in partnership with, and is supported by Glasgow Life. HOW TO GET INVOLVED: You should contact us by telephone or by clicking the apply button on the right of the page. We will respond to your request within 5 working days. We will then arrange to meet you for an informal chat and trial period. You will be invited to attend the next advisory meeting where we will start the induction process. You should be able to start volunteering with us within 2 - 3 months of initial contact.
