About Opportunity

The group consists of people from the East Dunbartonshire area who are either disabled or able bodied. The group meet every week on a Monday afternoon at Auchinairn Community Centre from 13:30 – 15:30. The group is an activity group who take part in various activities to provide both physical and mental stimulation as well as social interactions. The tasks for the volunteers would be to supervise and run activity sessions such as crafts, accompanying the group on outings and visits to places of interest, games and project work. Volunteer expenses are paid from the group funds. Any necessary training will be provided and a full disclosure check will be carried out as the volunteer will be working with a vulnerable group. Experience from those with a creative or social care background would be advantageous.
