Community Gardens Volunteer
When We Need You
From 08/11/2010 onwards
About Opportunity
Volunteers will be required for general gardening work in a number of community gardens in Mayfield and Easthouses as part of our Landshare Programme. The work will vary from each community garden depending on the gardens involved and what each community organisation would like to user their garden for. The work could include, lifting, digging, weeding, planting, etc. Refreshments are provided on the day by the organisation and volunteer expenses are available. All volunteers for this opportunity will be registered and added to a list of volunteers for the project in order to have enough volunteers for the community gardens on which work is completed at various times throughout the year. Once dates have been set by community organisations volunteers will be contacted to ascertain if the volunteer is available for the project. There will be a commitment by the volunteer to take part in as many of the community gardens as possible. We hope these opportunities will take place during the day or at the weekend to allow as many people as possible to take part. Due to the nature of some of the community organisations, schools, vulnerable adults etc. The volunteers will be required to be disclosure checked. This disclosure check will be free of charge.
