About Opportunity

Being able to commit to one day a week in an Action for Children office or at home making calls and writing letters to current music and contemporary festivals in Scotland finding out how they support charities and commit to running at least 3 festival stands a year. Organising and setting up an eye-catching and interesting Action for Children stand for events to raise, awareness of our work, promote fundraising events, recruit further volunteers and if possible, hold a collection. Recruiting and motivating other volunteers to man the stand. Sending thank you letters to festivals and calling them to let them know how the stand made a difference. Keeping a detailed account of festivals that have been approached on our in house database. Ensuring accurate receipting and accounting of income, in accordance with Action for Children Reporting, Banking and Administrative procedures.

About Action for Children

To include volunteers in the work of Action for Children, assisting the fundraising staff to raise awareness of the work we do, and funds to support the local children's services. We work with children in four ways:- with ones who cannot stay at home, with their families who need support, those who are disabled, those who experience severe difficulties in their lives.

Skills & Experience

Being able to organise and set up eye catching and interesting stands. Recruit volunteers, letter writing skills and good telephone manner.
