About Opportunity

A Passenger assistant is required to improve the safety for people who may need assistance when travelling by either taxi or using public transport to our weekly support group. Often the only barriers to our service users is accessing transport to attend our services which is why a passenger assistant is so important to support and help people use public transport primarily using MyBus which is a demand-responsive service for passengers who have difficulty using public transport. The wheelchair-accessible buses that pick up disabled or infirm people of all ages from their homes to the group. The role includes going to service user's home, supporting and assistiance en route returning to residence after group. Also support people who are wheel chair users.

Training and Induction Details

We are commited to provide induction and training to meet the responsibilities of the role the training: introduction training on stroke, communication disorder and strategies, moving&handling, first aid & passenger assisted training.

Frequency & Commitment

Can opt for either groups or both. 1st group needs volunteers from 10-11 to drop off and to pick up from 12 until 1pm. 2nd group 1pm until 2pm drop off and pick up from 3.30pm until 4.30pm.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
