About Opportunity

For The Prince's Trust mentoring ic "The provision of personal support, assistance, encouragement and inspiration to young people during and following our programmes, particularly at a time of transition and typically over a sustained period of time." Progression Mentore provide mentoring support to young people when they finish a Trust programme for a three to six-month period. It is to help them move into employment, training, education or volunteering and also make the most of the opportunities whilst in employment. It is about guidance and helping young people to find and translate information, understand problems, identify solutions and implement action plans. Commit to support The Prince's Trust for 24 months or longer 3 - 6 month relationship with each young person depending on the programme On average 2 - 4 hours per month per young person, although the frequency of contact varies over the term of the engagement HOW DO I APPLY? About The Prince's Trust

None required this is role specific person specification Essential: Commitment to the aims and values of The Prince’s Trust; Understanding of the issues facing The Prince’s Trust’s target groups; Reliabilty; Ability to relate to and empathise with young people and their aspirations; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially listening skills; Ability to be non-judgemental, self-aware, patient, understanding, flexible, positive and supportive attitude in all situations; Ability to challenge own assumptions and negativity; Desirable: Experience of working with young people; Knowledge of support networks for young people

Based in Glasgow and surrounding areas where necessary, own travel arrangements (expenses paid)
