About Opportunity
There is youth work volunteering opportunities available across the whole of Scottish Borders area. The volunteers would be working along side paid staff and other volunteers in helping to deliver a programme of activities to young people in various settings. The programmes are developed in co-operation with the young people and can include sports, arts and crafts, outings, challenge based work, residential and issue based work. The volunteers have access to the same training opportunities as the paid staff and are most welcome to attend our term time training/information sessions. Further training is available for anyone who wants to perhaps look at moving into this area of work in a paid post. Volunteers along with paid staff will ensure that the young people are safe, and any activities that are carried out are within Health and Safety guidelines.

Volunteers should be able to work as part of a team, be able to communicate with young people, have a genuine belief in the work and have a sense of humour.
Travel Details
The opportunities are Borders wide and no volunteer is expected to be out of pocket. Volunteers are expected to be able to travel to their place of work by their own means.

Training and Induction Details
All volunteers and part time staff go through induction and our core training programme. Volunteers can opt in to the ACT training which would help on CV for job seeking if appropriate. The core programme training happens once a term in their local area.
