Volunteer Transport Escort
About Opportunity
Glasgow Disabled Scouts provides challenge and adventure for young people aged 8 to 25 with physical disabilities. As part of our service we provide transport to over 40 young people to get them from home to our meeting places in the south side of Glasgow. Due to the level of disability, they need help to use this transport – and we need volunteers to assist the drivers in this way. You should have an interest and understanding of young people with physical disabilities, but not necessarily any prior experience. You will be collected and returned home and are needed for approximately 4 hours on Monday evening. NEXT TRAINING DAY MONDAY 23RD AUG 2010. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us ideally by telephone or email using the contact details on the right/select the APPLY! button. If you do not receive a response within [3] working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. The next step is to make arrangements for an application pack to be sent by post. It generally takes around [4 - 6 weeks] after you contact us to get you started.

About Glasgow Disabled Scouts
Glasgow Disabled Scouts offers challenge and adventure to boys aged 8-25 with physical disabilities. We believe in helping our members fulfil their potential by working in teams, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. Through our team of volunteer helpers and leaders we offer boys regardless of their disability the chance to stretch themselves, learn new skills and make life long friends. The aim of the Glasgow Disabled Scouts is to develop boys to fulfil their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, and through adventure and activities gain independence and learn to work with others to achieve positive results.
