About Opportunity

Main tasks will include:- - To draft press releases for local media to then be signed off by the PR team and sent out by the RVC - To help create a diverse library of volunteer case studies within the local area to assist with recruitment - To contact local press to check if they've received previously sent releases and determine if it will be used and when - To signpost any press enquiries back to RVC and PR team - To research local media outlets for promoting volunteering ie church magazines, sports clubs, social group magazines etc - To populate our Volunteer Facebook pages with local information on events and volunteer stories as requested by RVC and investigate other social media opportunities - Where requested by the RVC, to promote local fundraising activities alongside volunteer recruitment

About Guide Dogs For The Blind Association

To provide guide dogs and other rehabilitation services that meets the needs of the blind and partially sighted people. Guide dogs want a world in which all people who are blind and partially sighted to enjoy the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities as everyone else.

Skills & Experience

Volunteer must observe policies, procedures and rules of Guide Dogs. Must be able to work as part of a team with other volunteers and staff and must be able to make new volunteers feel welcome.

Training and Induction Details

Advice, support, information, training and resources will be provided to enable volunteer to uncdertake role safely and effectively.
