About Opportunity

Main responsibilities include:- -To identify locations to distribute Guide Dogs volunteer literature within the local area ie libraries, community centres, sports and leisure facilities. - To help source and plan suitable locations for Volunteer Information days within the local area - To promote our volunteer opportunities out in the community and with key agancies such as local Volunteer Centres - To attend local volunteer events where possible with the Regional Volunteering Co-ordinator (RVC) - To support the RVC with any local Employee Volunteering/Corporate Volunteer events - To help create a library of diverse volunteer case studies within the local area to assist in promoting local volunteer recruitment.

About Guide Dogs For The Blind Association

To provide guide dogs and other rehabilitation services that meets the needs of the blind and partially sighted people. Guide dogs want a world in which all people who are blind and partially sighted to enjoy the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities as everyone else.

Skills & Experience

Volunteer must observe policies, procedures and rules of Guide Dogs. Must be able to work as part of a team with other volunteers and staff and must be able to make new volunteers feel welcome.

Training and Induction Details

Advice, support, information, training and resources will be provided to enable volunteer to uncdertake role safely and effectively.
