About Opportunity
We are all volunteers and we encourage people of all ages who have an interest in gardening activities to get involved. The community garden is a flourishing growing space. We have raised beds for vegetables and flowers. We have a miniature fruit tree grove and are developing a butterfly garden, awildlife pond land a sensory garden area. Schools groups are learning more about planting and growing food in our outdoor learning areas. There is a cosy bothy and seating area for a welcome cuppa.. There are toilets on site as well as a disabled toilet. We have an outdoor learning area which is very well used, particularly in the good weather. New volunteers will be mainly involved in the community garden in maintenance tasks as well as new developments. You can become involved as much as you are able and to suit your levels of fitness. HOW TO GET INVOLVED We offer Fridays and Saturdays every week but other days/ times may be available by arrangement. Email or telephone us using the contact details on the right. If you have not heard from us within 10 working days please contact The Volunteer Centre Glasgow. Volunteers should start with us within 2 weeks of the initial enquiry.

About Hamiltonhill Allotment
To provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in gardening and benefit from working together in the fresh air. Offering a range of opportunities for individuals and groups to learn more about planting, growing and maintaining a community garden.
Skills & Experience
No previous experience of gardening needed. An openess to mucking in, learning from one another and sharing existing skills.
Travel Details
Ellesmere Street, Hamiltonhill (next to Hamiltonhill Nursery) Firstbus 54, 75 from City Centre (stop near Glasgow Angling Centre on Possil Road) The road that runs up to the left of the Angling Centre is Ellesmere Street. Or Firstbus 8 to Bardowie Street and walk into Ellesmere Street.
Restrictions
Children under 16 may be involved as part of a family group or if accompanied by a responsible adult. Restrictions are because of general health and safety issues and potential use of gardening machinery etc.
