About Opportunity
Your aim would be to inspire others to support the fight against heart disease by offering their financial or volunteer support. You will encourage people to sign up to take part in our fundraising campaigns like Be a part of Red of Heart and join us as volunteer fundraisers raising funds in their local community. You will be part of a network of enthusiastic Volunteer Speakers who play a major role in raising the profile of the charity locally, promoting our fundraising initiatives to a diverse range of audiences.

The aim of British Heart Foundation is to play a leading role in the fight against heart disease so that its no longer a major cause of premature death or disability.
Skills & Experience
If you have experience of public speaking or would like to gain some, this role will suit you. We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds, who can connect and confidently engage with others in group situations. Strong communication skills will be important to success in this role. BHF volunteers are of all ages, sixteen and upwards, and there is no specific experience required to become a Volunteer Speaker. Access to your own transport would be helpful. Some evening or day time availability would be required. An interest in helping to beat heart disease is vital.

Training and Induction Details
Initially you would be accompanied by either the FVM or another experienced volunteer speaker when on speaking engagements. You would have close links with your FVM, Regional Office and local BHF volunteers.
