About Opportunity

Your role would involve: •Identifying walk(s) in your area that are suitable for the participants that you aim to recruit •Conduct a risk assessment of the walk to ensure all walkers are safe and the environment is not adversely affected •Advertise and publicise your BHF Walk (with the help and assistance from your BHF regional office) •Recruit and register walkers and encourage sponsorship and fundraising •Manage the walk on the day to ensure all walkers are fully briefed on the route and other relevant details and that all volunteers understand their role •Encourage walkers to continue walking and to return to your BHF Walk again in the future

About British Heart Foundation (National)

The aim of British Heart Foundation is to play a leading role in the fight against heart disease so that its no longer a major cause of premature death or disability.

Skills & Experience

An interest in people, walking and the outdoors will all be important to this role. Access to a computer with e-mail is helpful for communications with walkers and with your regional office. You are likely to enjoy planning and organising. An interest in helping to beat heart disease is vital.

Travel Details

Your own local area. You will be in touch with other fundraising volunteers from your area. Your local Fundraising Volunteer Manager (FVM) and the regional office support staff will also be in support.

As a heart health and research charity BHF Scotland has specific policies on smoking and animal testing – for further information about our policies and work please contact us.

Training and Induction Details

You will have support from existing volunteers and our fundraising staff & you will be in touch with other fundraising volunteers from your area. Your local Fundraising Volunteer Manager (FVM) and the regional office support staff will also be in support.

Frequency & Commitment
