About Opportunity

The Disability Community is a friendly and welcoming environment. The organisation has a track record of supporting and involving volunteers. We offer a Cafe, Lunch Club and also a Cook and Care Home Delivery service. Duties include setting tables, heating and serving food, clearing up and collecting money. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us ideally by phone using the contact details on the right/select the APPLY! button, where we will arrange a time for you to come for an informal chat during which we will give you a welcome pack filled with information about our organisation. If you do not receive a response within 2 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It generally takes around 1 week after you contact us to get you started.

About The Disability Community

We have a programme of activities running from Mon-Fri each week. We run a lunch club for local residents and a hot meal delivery service. There is also a youth club for 16+ with learning disabilities and a cafeteria which is open to the public.

Skills & Experience

A previous experience of food serving/ waiting on tables would be an advantage but it is just as important to have someone who is enthusiastic about working in a catering environment and who enjoys working with the public. Volunteers will need to be physically fit to cope with the demands of the role.
