About Opportunity
Key provides support for adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities living in their own home or with family. The type of support varies however we endeavour to provide people with a full range of lifestyle choices so that they can attain their aspirations and dreams. Befrienders are an important part of this. You will be matched with one of our service users and spend a few hours each fortnight or month with them. This may involve doing any number of social activities together, such as going for coffee, to the cinema, concerts or places of particular interest. Our service users reside across Glasgow so we will try to match you to someone in your local area. Previous experience is not necessary although all practical and people skills are valued and volunteers must have a genuine interest in helping people. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register Interest facility. If you do not receive a response within 7 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. We will then arrange for you to attend a Volunteer Information Session. It generally takes around 5-6 weeks after you contact us to get you started volunteering.
