From 21/08/2003 onwards
About Opportunity
Do you have: Knowledge in a specialist subject area, willingness to pass on that knowledge, previous tutoring experience (welcome but not essential)? Could you share your skills and knowledge of any of the following: Basic literacy, numeracy or computing skills, advanced computing, languages, maths, history, etc arts and crafts work, playing a musical instrument? Could you offer practical support: Scribing (writing down a disabled learner's ideas and making notes), typing up notes and essays for a disabled learner or accompany a disabled learner who attends classes outside of his/her home? Could you support a disabled learner by encouraging them in their studies & talking through some of the problems of Distance Learning? Lead in Dundee are currently supporting people to volunteer in opportunities of their choice. Would you be able to support them so that their host organisation doesn't have to? The roles involved in this vary immensely and depend on the supported volunteers' abilities and the role they are learning.
