About Opportunity
Befriender can provide companionship during social and recreational activities as well as providing ongoing support when a client is encountering social and emotional and practical difficulties in integrating in the wider community. Befriending is different to a friendship which is a private and mutual relationship. Befriending is a service provided, supported and monitored by a voluntary or statutory agency.
