About Opportunity

The HWDT is a marine education charity based in Tobermory. We have a visitors centre and small gift shop which are manned throughout the year by volunteers. In the busy summer months the trust is involved in many activities including fun days for children, public talks, school visits, etc. Volunteers would take part in all these activities as well as haaving the opportunity to learn about our surrounding marine environment.

About Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust

HWDT is dedicated to the conservation of Scotlands whales, dolphins and porpoises and the hebridean marine environment through education, research and working within hebridean communities.

Skills & Experience

Flexibility Enthusiasm Communication skills Experience with computers/ administration/ events are useful.

Travel Details

Training takes place in Tobermory, Isle of Mull. Bus/Train to Oban Ferry Oban - Craignure Bus Craignure - Tobermory

Restrictions

Volunteers must be responsible for their own accommodation arrangements and be mature enough to take care of themselves.

Training and Induction Details

Our center manager will provide initial training with continued support from our volunteer coordinator. A meeting between volunteer and volunteer coordinator is held every two weeks to assess volunteer's progress.
