About Opportunity
Volunteers are given full training over six sessions, inducted and given an outline of their roles and responsibilities as a befriender before being matched up with a suitable young person. From there, volunteers can build up a friendship / relationship with a child through regular meets, taking the child out for days, etc
About Shared Care Scheme
Giving families a break by providing care in a family setting for children and adults with a learning or physical disability. This could be for an occassional overnight stay, a weekend visit or a holiday.
Skills & Experience
Carers and befrienders don't have to be experienced or qualified - just committed to caring for children who have a disability. Volunteers should be sympathetic towards the needs of children with disabilities
