About Opportunity

Collect young person(s) from home address and take to venue. Either wait, or return when activity is over and return young person(s) to home address. Drivers and young people each gain. Drivers comment on 'feeling useful, needed, involved in something worthwhile and making a difference.' Young people benefit through involvement with a positive role model who takes an interest in them and is willing to commit a little time each week.

About Give Kids a Chance Project

Give Kids a Chance is a local partnership initiative. The project aims to encourage and support vulnerable young people between the ages of 10 - 18 years to develop and sustain interests or hobbies that will divert them from negative activities. By involving young people in positive sport and leisure activities Give Kids a Chance aims to relieve boredom, raise self esteem, confidence and personal skills.

Skills & Experience

A well maintained vehicle. A clean current driving license. Experience, interest or knowledge of young people.

Travel Details

Various locations throughout Moray. For example: Lhanbryde to Lossiemouth - for golf lessons. Elgin & Buckie to Keith - for horse riding lessons. Elgin - swimming, ice-skating, sea cadets etc

Restrictions

upper age limit applied for driving and min age to ensure driving experience

At the moment this is done on an individual basis and involves meetings, telephone contact and information.
