About Cat's Protection Lanarkshire
Cats Protection Lanarkshire Branch is part of a national charity which was founded in 1927 devoted exclusively to promoting the interests of cats.
Cats Protection is the oldest and the largest cat charity in the UK and 2002 saw us celebrate our 75th anniversary.
The Lanarkshire Branch started in 1992. At present we have 8 fosterers who look after our cats in care that average 20 cats and kittens at any one time. The Foster Mum's look after kittens until a permanent home can be found, and are supported by the Branch Committee and support members.
Our ability to function as a group is entirely dependent on people willing to help, which in turn is related to the number of cats and kittens we can cater for. There is always an overwhelming need for more volunteers to help share the workload.
