About Opportunity

Greenhead Moss Community Nature Park is a 110 hectare public park and wildlife located on the outskirts of Wishaw and managed by the local community. The continued sustainable improvement and management of the nature park relies upon volunteer work to maintain the environmental infrastructure of this site and help improve its wildlife interests. Currently the community trust organises on 'open' conservation work day per week (Fri 1-4) + 1 Sunday per month - work undertaken by this group has included such tasks as, the creation of a swan nesting platform, the removal of invasive species, the creation of sleeper steps and teh creation of an amphibian hibernavusar, The community trust os attempting to attract further volunteers both to increase the number in attendance at these monthly work days and secure enough support to develop enough support to undertake a weekly mid-week conservation volunteer work day. SD 08.09.10 - Volunteers meet every Friday at Burnhall Street in Waterloo, Wishaw. From, 1pm until 3/3:30pm. Contact Aileen on 07983275111.
