About Opportunity

Supervised contact is managed by the child contact centre manager ususally in instances of domestic abuse or child protection. The supervisor is accompanied by a volunteer who will assist in the general running of the contact, which includes providing refreshments. Supported contact and handover contacts require 2 trained volunteers to manage the contact and minimise any potential conflict between the 2 estranged parents.

About Counselling & Family Mediation Western Isles

To provide counselling to individuals and couples with alcohol, relationship, bereavement and other personal problems. To provide a mediation service for couples who are in dispute over the future parenting of their children and to provide contact centres, safe neutral meeting places for parents who do not live with their children.

Initial training is a 2 day training course and then each contact worker has supervision time with the centre manager.
