About Opportunity

Volunteers befriend the children first and identify their interests. They then tutor the children in the areas which have been highlighted by the school as the needs of the pupil.

About Volunteer Tutors Organisation

We help children who have fallen behind with their school work for a variety of reasons. The tutoring is on a one to one basis. Mostly done in the child's home. It is normally for 1 hour per week

Training and Induction Details

2/3 training sessions in the first three months of the school year (Sep-Dec) these are given by the Head Teacher of a family support unit. Our office has books, games, information etc. which the tutors are welcome to use.
