About Opportunity
We meet for two hours fortnightly during term times to support 12 children with physical and learning disabilities. We teach them to ride to the best of their ability and gain confidence in close contact with ponies. The children all love it and with more helpers we could give them more sessions.

About Riding for the Disabled -
To enable children and adults with disabilities physical and educational to experience the pleasures to be gained from being in close contact with horses. Both riding and working with the ponies brings their own benefits. The therapeutic effects of riding have long been known and the boost to the confidence is well recognised. Many a timid beginner has turned out a confident person both on and off the horse thanks to Riding for the Disabled.

Please note this group currently ride at Ringford. Volunteers will have to present themselves there.

Training and Induction Details
A short introduction to working with horses is given leading and caring for horses, talking to the physically handicapped children is essential and a feeling to this work.
