About Opportunity

Provide citizen advocacy service to those persons with a learning difficulty, helping them to lead a full and active life and include them in society. Help to make their voices heard and participate in the community. It will involve speaking up for people when they can't, and supporting them at meetings and helping them to get the same rights and opportunities as others in society.

About Speak Out Advocacy Project

Provides advocacy services for persons with a learning disability throughout South Lanarkshire, to enable their voice to be heard and their needs and rights addressed.

Skills & Experience

Volunteers should have good communication skills, patience, and be understanding.

Travel Details

Throughout South Lanarkshire area.

Restrictions

A Disclosure Check & References will be required.

Training and Induction Details

An intial orientation programme is provided. On-going support and training also provided. Each volunteer is appointed a mentor who is a member of staff.
