About Opportunity

The CAB provides free and confidential advice on a huge range of topics. This includes; Housing Benefits, the law, money problems, care services and welfare rights. This post requires interviewing of clients, research, on going training, recording and updating case details, negotiation with outside agencies and basic administration. All volunteers must be able to work in a non-judgemental way.

About Ross and Cromarty Citizens Advice Bureau

The aims of the CAB are to ensure that no one suffers from lack of knowledge or prejudice, and to lobby local and national governement about aspects of social injustice. The CAB provides free and confidential advice on a huge range of topics ranging from housing, benefits, the law, money problems and welfare rights issues. If the CAB can't provide the answer, they know who can.

Skills & Experience

Some I.T. experience or a willingness to learn is required.

Restrictions

Volunteers who are over 75 years of age would have to sign an Insurance Disclaimer.

Application Form, Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Police Check, References

Training and Induction Details

Trainees spend 7 weeks initially working through the training units and will then be 'buddied' with an experienced advisor for a minimun of 7 weeks.
