When We Need You

From 06/12/2011 to 04/06/2013

About Opportunity

We provide a daily coffee bar service to the families and friends of prisoners during the half hour sessions. This is appreciated and goes some way towards providing a more normal social setting for these sometimes difficult times. Friendly, enthusiastic, non-judgmental contact by volunteers at the counter whilst providing light refreshments is what we are looking for in new helpers. Our volunteers, both men and women, find the work enjoyable, challenging, different and an opportunity to make new friends. The visits room within the prison is large, well furnished and not unlike an Airport Lounge. The coffee bar is modern, well equipped and easily run. Volunteers work in pairs and sessions are for 2/3 hours.
