About Opportunity
If you can spare one day per week or fortnight then you could go out with The Food Train van around the area collecting shopping lists or making grocery deliveries to our customers, providing vital social contact for isolated people. You would help sort the shopping lists for the correct shops, collect the prepared orders and manage the cash float and customer's change. No experience of cash handling or banking required but volunteers need to be willing to learn new skills and be comfortable with handling cash payments.

Provides a home delivery grocery shopping service for elderly and housebound people, providing regular weekly contact.
Skills & Experience
Flexible and friendly, able to communicate with people from all walks of life and able to empathise with the needs of elderly and isolated people. Need to commit to one whole day per week, fortnight or month.
Travel Details
In and around Wigtownshire, based at 2 Hanover Lane, Stranraer.

Training and Induction Details
Two week trial period with an experienced volunteer, then a further two weeks supervised. On-going support.
