When We Need You
From 08/04/2004 onwards
Normally one person can cope with the shop/tea room, but in busy times there may be two. The function of this volunteer is to greet visitors in a friendly manner and levy the appropriate charge for adults, children, concession and families. We have a range of sale goods on offer and also offer hot and cold drinks, ice cream and light pre-packed snacks. The volunteer must be happy with handling money and operating a till. This opportunity is best suited to volunteers who are physically fit and able to work independently.
About D&G Aviation Museum
Preservation and conservation of aviation heritage with particular reference to Dumfries and Galloway. Education of the general public and of school children. School parties attend on a regular basis from a number of local schools. Preservation of a historic building on the museum site.
Skills & Experience
Applicants must be able to work unsupervised, have a friendly personality, be capable of money handling and till operation.
At the museum on Heathhall Industrial Estate, Dumfries. There is a regular bus service if public transport is required.

Training and Induction Details
They will be given initial training in the shop/cafe and will work with another staff member until they feel competent to work alone.
