About Opportunity
Tutors, who are offered training and ongoing support, generally meet with learners for an hour or so each week. The general tasks include supporting learners to achieve their own identified goals. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
About Argyll & Bute Council (Oban)
To provide adults with access to comprehensive basic literacy and numeracy provision in order to improve literacies standards throughout the area. This is done by recruiting and training volunteer tutors to provide 1:1 support for literacies learners.
Skills & Experience
Tutors do not need any academic qualifications, but patience, a sense of humour and being a 'peoples person' are important.
Travel Details
The opportunity takes place at a time and place mutually conveinent to the tutor and the learner. Travel and accommodation are arranged with tutor and learner.
